Known as a City of Culture, Kırşehir has hosted many scholars for centuries such as Ahi Evran-ı Veli, Cacabey, Yunus Emre and Aşık Paşa. It is possible to observe the heritage they left to Kırşehir both in cultural and architectural areas throughout the city. Kırşehir is the birthplace of the philosophy of Ahilik, which is accepted as the beginning of vocational practices such as vocational organizations, producer and consumer rights, product and service standards, quality control, apprenticeship-journeyman-mastership. Today, “Ahilik Week” is celebrated every year in Kırşehir with various activities to keep this tradition survive, to transfer this cultural heritage based on the peace and happiness of the society to future generations and to commemorate Ahi Evran-ı Veli, the architect of Ahilik.
Kırşehir, which is very rich in terms of thermal resources, is among the ambitious cities in Thermal Tourism. Included within the scope of the "Thermal Tourism Cities Project" carried out by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in order to reveal the potentials related to Thermal Resources, the most important hot springs of Kırşehir are Terme Thermal Springs, Karakurt Thermal Springs, Bulamaçlı Thermal Springs and Mahmutlu Thermal Springs. The high quality of the geothermal resources of Kırşehir draws attention, and three geothermal hotels in the province serve with full occupancy rate in almost every season of the year. Furthermore, there are lands allocated for the hotels to be built in the Terme Geothermal Region, and the water of this region is of high temperature and high quality, and is extremely suitable for health tourism.
Apart from these, Kırşehir has the feature of being a music and art center in the middle of the Anatolian steppe. The music culture, which carries the traces of the Abdallık (wandering dervish) tradition, is kept alive in every aspect of social life in Kırşehir. Many sound artists, minstrels and poets were also raised up in this culture in Kırşehir. Great importance is given to cultural and artistic activities in the city, and memorial events are organized every year for Muharrem Ertaş and Neşet Ertaş. By means of these features, Kırşehir was included in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of music in 2019 and has become Turkey's first and only music city.
