Kirsehir is located in the Central Kızılırmak Basin in midpoint of Turkey. In terms of location, it is surrounded by Kozaklı, Hacıbektaş and Gülşehir districts of Nevşehir in the east and southeast; Ortaköy of Aksaray in the south; Şereflikoçhisar and Bâlâ of Ankara in the southwest; Keskin and Delice of Kırıkkale in the northwest; Boğazlıyan and Yerköy of Yozgat in the north and northeast. The city is located on the north of the triangle called Cappadocia together with Kayseri and Nevşehir.
There is no airport in Kırşehir. Air transportation; Air transportation is done via Nevşehir-Cappadocia (84 km), Kayseri-Erkilet (130 km) and Ankara-Esenboğa (199 km). Kırşehir province does not have any railway connection. Although the only transportation option in Kırşehir is the highway, the railway transportation need is done via the railway station in Yozgat-Yerköy, 73 km away from the city center, and Kayseri Himmet Dede Railway, 88 km away.
